È il 15 luglio 1931, il The Augusta Chronicle dedica sei delle otto colonne della sua prima pagina all’annuncio che Jones e i suoi soci stanno per fondare un nuovo, straordinario percorso, l’Augusta National. Nel testo vengono riportate queste sue parole: “La mia ambizione è costruire un campo che sia riconosciuto come uno dei migliori al mondo”. Ci riuscirà.
